Drive is our Employability and Skill Development Programme. We aim to find meaningful work for people who want to return to the workforce. The Programme has a range of participants from refugees and other people new to the country, parents who have taken a career break, to professionals who have unexpectedly been made redundant. We have a pool of volunteer mentors who generously donate their time to help people in need of guidance.
The employability programme has been set up to support local residents back into employment. It is a tailored approach supporting participants on their individual journeys back into employment, education or volunteering. Some of the workshops and support available are:
Our immersive English workshops have been designed to support residents to improve their confidence in speaking in English.
The workshops are in a group setting to enable participants to support each other on their journey to speaking English with more confidence.
For organisations and individuals. Please, use this form to refer a person who could benefit from one of our employability programmes. After receiving your referral form, they will be allocated an initial appointment where we can discuss the support available.
We provide personalised employment support to people new to the UK. You may have recently arrived from Ukraine or Afghanistan to rebuild your life here, or a migrant from another country on a Skilled Worker or Family Visa. The service is free of charge.
