Laughter Yoga

Description

Laughter yoga is aa type of breathing exercise which involves laughing out loudly with various body movements. It is believed that intentional laughter can also provide benefits equal to those of spontaneous laughter (e.g., laughing at a joke). Learning to laugh on cue can helps deal with stress through controlled breathing and promotes a healthy mental wellbeing.

Residents are usually sitting at one place with very little movement throughout the day and hence their bones tend to lose density and the joints become stiffer. A gentle yoga practice along with some fun can be a very effective way to uplift moods and joint stiffness can be reduced by moving the joints regularly.

Our instructor aims to create an hour session with the residents to help them with movement. It is advisable that the instructor is aware of any problems that the residents may have with their bones or joints. They can help modify routine and provide helpful tips.
