Hello, I’m Lana and I’m a professional animator and an artist. I’ve drawn and painted for as long as I can remember, both traditionally with oils and gouache and digitally. This is my first public mural, and I really loved the experience of painting in a public space and interacting with people for whom I was creating it. The overwhelmingly positive experience and feedback I’ve had, makes me hope that this is a first of many such projects for our community.

My lamp-post mural is titled “You are HERE”.

It is an abstract visual dedication to our multi-cultural, eclectic and wonderful community. Each colourful, expressive, distinct brush-mark is unique, just like the people of Slough, nonetheless they all combine to form a dynamic beautiful whole. The glowing lines throughout, symbolise the journeys that have brought us, from near and far, to our lives here in Slough.

“You are here” is a call to all of us to slow down, take a breath and BE here, right now in this moment, be ACTIVELY present and help make Slough a place we shall all be proud to call home.
