I am Satinder Battoo a local artist who has lived in Slough for many years. I love the fact that Slough is home to many different cultures and people and I have tried to incorporate this in my painting.

The lamppost is covered by beautiful vibrant butterflies. The colours represent the beauty and the diversity of Slough and its various cultures. The bees represent the industry that Slough has forever been recognised with.

There is one butterfly that I have shown with two different coloured wings.  Although this does occur in nature, in this scenario one wing is pink with green spots and the other is green with pink spots.  This signifies a coming together of cultures where each learns about and appreciates the other.  It is only with the understanding of each other’s cultures and beliefs that we become closer and better human beings.

This I have termed as a Cohesive Community!
